In my practice, I treat the full spectrum of neurological conditions. The systems of the body covered by neurology include the central nervous system – that is, the brain and spinal cord – the blood vessels, and the peripheral nervous system, including its connections to the muscles and the musculature itself. A detailed discussion with the patient regarding their medical history and a physical examination tailored to their symptoms are of the utmost importance to me, as they form the basis for reaching the correct diagnosis and initiating targeted treatment.
Below is a list of the treatments I offer.
e.g. epilepsy, syncope, changes in consciousness
e.g. Parkinson's syndrome, gait disorders, normal-pressure hydrocephalus, tremor
Treatment with botulinum toxin A has proven to be extremely effective in managing a wide range of symptoms associated with neurological conditions (e.g. chronic migraine, spasticity, hyperhidrosis and dystonia). Following a thorough examination and the development of a personalised treatment plan, botulinum toxin therapy is administered via small, targeted injections into the affected muscles. The effects usually set in within a few days and last for up to several weeks. If necessary, the treatment can then be repeated.
Mild cognitive impairment, e.g. Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, dementia associated with Parkinson’s disease, dementia associated with normal-pressure hydrocephalus
e.g. multiple sclerosis, myelitis, meningitis, encephalitis
e.g. polyneuropathies, entrapment syndromes such as carpal tunnel syndrome, facial nerve palsy
e.g. migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache, trigeminal neuralgia
e.g. myasthenia gravis, myositis
e.g. spinal stenosis, herniated discs, radicular syndromes associated with degenerative spinal changes
e.g. restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movements during sleep (PLMS), sleep apnoea syndrome, difficulty falling and staying asleep
e.g. cardiovascular risk factors
e.g. central syndromes, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, oscillatory vertigo, unilateral vestibular disorder
e.g. strokes / cerebral haemorrhages, vascular anomalies, cerebral microangiopathy
